Carolina Lescano is a good friend from high school and we've been able to stay in touch over the years.  She attended Harvard and made a home in Boston for a few years after graduating.  While I was living in Connecticut (2008-2013) I made a habit of making visits to Boston for fun and to visit friends.  Carolina was always welcoming. 

In anticipation of my visit, Carolina had the great idea to surprise her mother with a photography session as an early gift for Mother's Day.  It worked out well as her brother, Federico, was attending Northeastern at the time.  

We headed over to Harvard's Arnold Arboretum and had a great time. I didn't have much direction for them, and I'm glad, because they naturally brought a really fun and joyful energy to the afternoon:

The awesome, unexpected treat for the day, that worked its way into this set was Federico's skills as a cheerleader. As you may have seen in the slideshow above, he can do backflips…easily. Thanks to CS6 and Photomerge, I was able to compile these interval shots of his flips:
