I grew up in Stamford, CT and was a pretty “average” kid. I played youth basketball and little league baseball and enjoyed both quite a bit. I can remember being 7 years old playing basketball in our city’s “Upstart” league. I was on the New York Knicks and my coach was, Mr. Furth. I befriended his son, Eddie, and we hung out a few times, playing video games and watching basketball at his house.
Eddie and I went our separate ways after Upstart basketball, but Stamford is a small, big town. We came across each other at local theatre performances and gatherings of mutual friends.
Fast forward to 2013…
I had been planning for most of the year to move to Los Angeles, California. By November, everything was falling into place and I knew that on November 12th, I would be starting my cross-country drive to the Golden State. Eddie and I were friends on Facebook, naturally, and what a surprise it was to see this posted on his page one day:
I had no idea that Eddie was planning on moving to LA! The little bit I had seen of his Facebook page, over the years, I knew that he had been into acting and comedy for a while, but again, didn’t know that he was planning on making the west coast jump too. It was very cool.
We landed in LA within a week of each other; both from Stamford, CT to Los Angeles, CA. It has made us kindred spirits for sure. We met up and rekindled our friendship, by going to movies, comedy shows, to some of LA's best attractions and also by going on a hike at Griffith Park.
Eddie once said something to the effect that we’re either a great pair or that we enable the worst in one another; he likes to speak and express, on stage as an actor at all times, and that I like to listen and observe, always being a photographer. I think it makes for a good friendship. This day at Griffith Park made for a good hike. I had recently purchased a few Tiffen neutral density filters, and just let them go to work. I was wowed by what was created by the time I got a chance to sit down at edit them. I enjoyed watching Eddie roam the rocks and have a good time:
