My friend,  Bill, has one of the kindest hearts of anyone I know. We always talked about just going for a hike sometime, and we finally made it happen.

About two weeks prior to this my mother passed away.  I'm thankful for Bill and our walk and talk this day.  He is very supportive and genuine.  We decided to go to Mianus River Park (Stamford, CT).  I had been there before to photograph Lindsay and George, and it was nice to return.  I find it interesting how photographing/experiencing a location changes based on the circumstances and who you are with. Mianus River Park felt completely new with Bill. I noticed the same thing in Central Park.  As of 2013,  I had been there four times for engagement photograph sessions and it felt like a different place each time.

As for Mianus River, I wasn't going for anything glamorous. I just captured a few nature details I liked as we walked and talked. I was just looking for the light in more ways than one.  Get up.  Get out.  I just needed to take some photographs to clear my mind.

I was also happy to be able to create an image that I call, "Super Bill" (the last image in the slideshow):
